Our Curriculum

At St Bartholomew’s we aim to offer a creative and enriching curriculum to all of the children so that they are excited and motivated to become confident, independent learners who are enabled to fulfill their potential.

Our curriculum is underpinned by the statutory requirements of the

Statutory Framework for the Early Years and Foundation Stage

and the

National Curriculum 2014

The National Curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said, and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.

We believe that it is possible to include all of the skills and requirements of the National Curriculum and incorporate them into a topic based creative curriculum so within our school we have developed a two year rolling programme of topics across key stage 1 and key stage 2. Where possible learning in all subjects will be underpinned by this topic although in some instances stand-alone lessons are also provided.

An overview of our curriculum can be viewed here.
